To begin with:
Amboise, "Ambacia" in Latin, means "between two waters". The name of the city refers ti its past and its privileged geographical situation: the Châtelliers plateau which overlooks the Loire and the Amasse valleys. The City spreads out, taking advantage of ths natural protection of the rivers and the development of a fortress.

You will stroll next to the city-centre of Amboise and further on to the Gallic and Roman vestiges. To help, a map will give you information about the walk, the important monuments and the street names. Enclosed are historical information and details about what you will see along the way.
