To begin with: Amboise, "Ambacia" in Latin, means "between two waters". The name of the city refers ti its past and its privileged geographical situation: the Châtelliers plateau which overlooks the Loire and the Amasse valleys. The City spreads out, taking advantage of ths natural protection of the rivers and the development of a fortress.
Amboise, the river, the people, the town... You will stroll next to the city-centre of Amboise and further on to the Gallic and Roman vestiges. To help, a map will give you information about the walk, the important monuments and the street names. Enclosed are historical information and details about what you will see along the way. Inside you'll get information too about the archeological vestiges you can see when getting around.
